The median sales price on Maui is how much?!

The REALTORS Association of Maui, or RAM, has been keeping track of all the comings-and-goings within the real estate marketplace since 1993. Each month, they release a report that’s packed to the brim with all sorts of interesting facts and figures for the previous month’s sales numbers, including the median sales price for single-family homes in Maui County (Maui, Lana’i, Moloka’i, and uninhabited Kaho’olawe).
The median – aka the midpoint between the highest and lowest numbers in a given set – sales price for homes on Maui is an excellent indicator of the market’s overall movement patterns, as utilizing the average of all the numbers can lead to a potentially-skewered outlook – due in large part to some eye-popping figures that you might have seen in the news lately!
So just how much are we talking here?
In the month of August, the median sales price for single family homes was $1.04 million dollars – the fourth consecutive month that the median price was over a million!
Across the island, 2021 has continued to be a seller’s market, and there are no signs of a slowdown in the immediate future. The pandemic has certainly been a challenge for us all – but it has also driven the movement towards teleworking and a higher quality of life, and people the world over are looking to make their island fantasies come true!
